The Overall Winning Artists Category consists of the 5 Best Entries received from the 3 media categories of the Painting & Other Category, Photography & Digital Category and the 3 Dimensional Art categories.
The winning artists will now be featured on the Light Space & Time website for from May 15 through July 15, 2020 and thereafter, the artworks and links to the artist’s websites will remain online in the Light Space & Time Archives.
The overall winning artists’ category of the "Created in Isolation" Art Exhibition will receive extensive worldwide publicity and promotion. In addition, the overall winning artists will also receive extensive worldwide publicity in the form of email marketing, 550+ press release announcements, event announcement posts and social media marketing.
Winning artists will also have their art exhibition results posted and promoted on ArtJobs/ArtWeek. Artweek/Artjobs produces 800,000 page impressions per month, 280,000 website visitors per month and has 30,000 newsletter subscribers.

1st Place - Heather Olsen - “Getting Ready to go into Battle”
I am an oil painter based in Salt Lake City, UT and have been exhibiting artwork nationwide since 2015. I began painting and drawing at a very young age, and studied with various professional artists at both the Bridge Academy and Hein Academy before completing my Bachelor of Fine Arts degree at the University of Utah in 2015. I paint whatever comes to my mind. Oftentimes it is things that I am passionate about such as animals and human emotions. Other times it could be a dream I had, something going on in the world, or an idea inspired by an experience. My work is rooted in realism due to my classical training, but has a sense of emotional expression with quick brushstrokes and heavy application of paint.

2nd Place – Julie Powell - “Remnants of Time”
While the base images were captured just prior to going into isolation, the artworks created were done in lockdown. I used the emotions and feelings that were occurring during isolation to create these pieces. Not just my own but in talking to other people as well. The sense of isolation, the boredom, the grief, the loneliness, the ebb and flow of emotion that seemed to happen to so many people during this time. I used several different pieces of symbolism to keep the theme travelling from one image to another, the key, the apple and the cloud. I called this series The Lonely Man.

3rd Place – Henry Bosak - “Engine 54”
Why do I paint? A valid question I suppose. The best reason I have been able to come up with is that I love to create! There is just something about getting lost in the process…time stands still. I get such a sense of satisfaction and fulfilment to be able to look at an image, object or scene and recreate it on canvas in the most realistic way that I can.

4th Place – Rachel Owen – “Alone”
Rachel Owen is a photographer living and working with her husband and son in the Chicagoland area. Right out of high school Rachel began working as a portrait photographer and is creating more and more time to transition into her passion which is green-screen photography and digital compositing. As an Adobe Certified Photoshop Expert she often merges photos of her subjects on greenscreen in the studio into miniature objects or even combines multiple photographs to create a new setting that does not exist in the real world.
Rachel's primary goal when photographing anyone is to make the person in front of her lens feel empowered and to have that empowerment show up and provoke the viewer. Her images are often described as surreal and whimsical, and they take the viewer into a fantasy to blur the lines of reality and fiction. Rachel describes her desire to create as a fundamental energy in her soul that hurts more to keep in than to let out. Her passion and life's purpose is to create images that inspire herself and others to put love where love is not.

5th Place – Lillian Anna Blouin - “The Early Bird and the Night Owl”
Lillian Anna Blouin is a California fine art painter. Born in North Carolina she spent her childhood in a number of different states including, Massachusetts and Arizona, before moving to Southern California in 2001. She received her BA in Illustration from Laguna College of Art and Design in 2011 and later went on to try and build a successful career as an illustrator. However, she quickly found much more fulfillment within the fine art community after showcasing in several galleries within California.
In 2013 she was given the great honor of being accepted for the first time as a Festival of the Arts Exhibitor and would go on to showcase again the following year. That same year she traveled to San Francisco and enrolled in Academy of Art University where in 2017 she received her MFA in Fine Art painting. After returning to Southern California she then went on to showcase in the LAAA’s National Survey Exhibition in Los Angles and the National Juried Small Works Exhibition in Clifton Springs, NY. She also briefly interned at the Laguna Beach Museum of Art, further entrenching herself within the Laguna Beach artist community. An award-winning artist and devoted student of hyper-realism Lillian Anna Blouin’s unique style of painting seeks to bridge together the worlds of the real and the unreal. Each piece is a surreal exploration of everyday objects with multiple interpretations behind each painting.
